Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information HighCompress (the "Site", accessible at high-compress.com) collects, why it is collected, how it is used, and the choices you have about it. By using the Site, you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

HighCompress is a small editorial publication about file compression and website speed. The contact email for privacy-related questions is achyuthkumar64@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us directly

If you email us or use the contact form, we receive whatever you choose to send: typically your name, email address, and message content. We use this only to reply to you and keep a record of the exchange.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting platform (Google's Blogger service) and our analytics tools automatically log standard request data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and the time of the visit. This is industry-standard server log data.

2.3 Cookies

We and our third-party services place cookies and similar technologies on your device. See our Cookie Policy for the categories of cookies used and how to control them.

3. Third-party services we rely on

Because the Site runs on Blogger, several Google services receive data when you visit:

  • Blogger (Google) — hosts the Site and processes basic request logs.
  • Google Analytics — measures aggregate visitor behaviour. We do not view individual user records.
  • Google Search and other crawlers — index our content for discoverability.
  • Google AdSense (if enabled in the future) — would serve advertising and may use cookies to personalise ads, subject to Google's ad policies.

If we add other third-party services (for example, a contact-form provider or comment system), we'll update this section.

4. How we use information

We use the information described above to: respond to your messages; understand which articles are useful; fix bugs and improve the Site; comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

5. Legal basis (for visitors in the EEA, UK, and similar regions)

We rely on legitimate interest for analytics and security, consent for non-essential cookies, and consent or contractual necessity for handling messages you send us.

6. Data retention

Contact emails are kept as long as is reasonably needed to handle the request and any follow-up — typically up to 24 months — after which they are deleted. Analytics data is retained per the defaults of the analytics provider.

7. Your rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email achyuthkumar64@gmail.com with "PRIVACY REQUEST" in the subject line.

8. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security

We rely on Blogger's HTTPS hosting and Google's account security for the dashboard. No service is perfectly secure, and you send information to us at your own risk.

10. International transfers

Because of the global nature of Google's infrastructure, your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Google's privacy framework covers these transfers.

11. Future tools

HighCompress today is an editorial publication and does not process user files. If, in future, we add browser-based or server-side compression tools, this policy will be updated to describe how files are handled before any such tool launches.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to re-read it occasionally.
