Terms of Use
Last updated: 20 June 2026
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the HighCompress website at high-compress.com ("the Site"). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
1. Educational purpose
The Site is an editorial publication providing educational information about file compression, image and PDF optimisation, video and audio formats, and website performance. Articles are written in good faith but should be treated as informational, not as personalised technical or legal advice.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site to: violate any law; infringe anyone's intellectual property; transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code; attempt unauthorised access to the Site's infrastructure or its hosting platform; or scrape the Site at a rate that interferes with its availability for others.
3. Intellectual property
All articles, images created by us, layout, branding, and the "HighCompress" name belong to the Site's owners or our licensors. You may read, link to, and quote brief excerpts of articles for personal or non-commercial use with attribution and a link back to the source page. You may not republish full articles or substantial portions without written permission.
Third-party trademarks, software names, and logos referenced in articles (for example, format names like JPEG, PNG, WebP, ZIP, MP4) belong to their respective owners and are used for descriptive purposes only.
4. No warranties
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranty that the information is complete, accurate, current, or fit for any particular purpose. Compression behaviour differs between files, tools, and software versions; we cannot guarantee that a step described in an article will produce the same result in your environment.
5. Always test on a copy
Before applying any compression or file-format technique discussed on the Site to important files, make a backup copy and test the technique on a non-critical sample. We are not responsible for data loss caused by following instructions on the Site.
6. Third-party links and tools
Articles may link to external tools and websites. We don't control those services and aren't responsible for their content, privacy practices, or behaviour. Use them at your own discretion.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HighCompress and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profit, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site or the information published on it.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continuing to use the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are interpreted under the laws applicable to the Site's editorial team's jurisdiction. Where mandatory local consumer-protection rules apply to you, those rules take precedence.
